# Dimensions

> Group and order questions according to the stages of your qualification journey.

A dimension represents a business stage such as understanding the need, confirming budget, or checking the timeline.

## Roles

| Role | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Required** | Its data must be concluded; a dimension without data does not alone block success. |
| **Contributing** | Its coverage contributes to the selected level's overall threshold. |
| **Optional** | This stage enriches the conversation when useful. |

Reorder dimensions by drag and drop or with the keyboard. The ordering strength in qualification settings determines how strongly this sequence influences selection.

## Empty dimensions

An empty dimension is not useful to the runtime. Add questions manually, import them, or use the AI generation assistant and review its proposals.

<Tip>
  Use names that make sense to a business user. Technical ranking parameters remain internal to the engine.
</Tip>

## When is a dimension covered?

The level requires **1 intent for Essential, 2 for Balanced, 3 for Deep**, capped by the available intents. Close rephrasings may share an intent. See [Progress and qualification](/en/concepts/qualification) for the Budget example, conflicts, and overall success.
